The UFL has completed its 2nd season with spring football completing its 7th season since 2019. With the season officially complete and the next wave of players getting ready to embark on their NFL journey it’s now time to give our final Quarterback Rankings of the 2025 season. This year 26 Quarterbacks appeared in a UFL game, with 21 earning a start.
Hardly Knew You:
Not including Quinten Dormady of the Showboats, the UFL saw Four Quarterbacks make “cameo” appearances this season. Jalen Morton (Stallions), Colby Suits (Panthers), Trae Self (Battlehawks), and Mike Hohensee (Brahmas) all spent time on UFL rosters as QB3’s before being released before the end of the season. Morton spent a week with the Stallions after taking a week off from the AF1’s Southwest Kansas Storm where he is an MVP front runner.
QB3s
Two quarterbacks found their way to the end of the season not appearing in any games this season. Alan Bowman spent 3 weeks on UFL rosters between the Michigan Panthers, and San Antonio Brahmas. Bowman was a class of 2025 NFL prospect who did not receive any NFL workouts or RMC’s during the draft process. Bowman remains on the Brahmas roster.
Highly touted prospect Luke Lehnen also spent the whole season as the Arlington Renegades QB3 and did not appear in a UFL game. Lehnen was one of college football’s most prolific passers and could be a gem in 2026 if given an opportunity.
Injured Reserve
Two of the league's brightest stars did not have the opportunity to showcase their skill sets fully in 2025. Stallions QB Alex McGough and Battlehawks QB Manny Wilkins. McGough injured his shoulder week 2, and despite getting reactivated off injured reserve couldn’t find his way back into the starting lineup. Wilkins put together Two MVP caliber games to start the 2025 season, followed by a lackluster performance in week 3. He’d end his season on a draw play against Renegades giving way to Max Duggan for the remainder of the season.
24. St. Louis Battlehawks Chevan Cordeiro
Preseason Ranking: 22
Cordeiro got the raw end of the stick this year falling victim to a hamstring injury that sidelined him for a little more than half the season. He’d make his debut in week 10, for a short cameo with limited time to showcase his talent. Depending on what happens with Wilkins or Duggan in 2026, Cordeiro could see an expanded role in the future.
23. San Antonio Brahmas Jarrett Guarantano
Preseason Ranking: 19
Guarantano made one appearance in 2025, after starting multiple games for the Houston Roughnecks in 2024. The one time NFL prospect looked extremely anemic in his opportunity and was ultimately passed over by Kevin Hogan when San Antonio made a switch to Quarterback. Guarantano’s QB future may be up for grabs as 2026 comes around.
22. D.C. Defenders Spencer Sanders
Preseason Ranking: Unranked
Sanders was not signed when our original rankings came out but over the back half of the season showed enough versatility on special teams, and as a receiver to earn some playing time. Sanders hauled in a reception in week 9 during a 2-minute drill, and acted as a gunner on the Defenders punt team. While it’s doubtful Sanders can make an impact as a Quarterback in the UFL, he may be able to go the route of former Defenders QB turned TE Tyree Jackson who has carved out a nice career for himself earning 1.7 Million since 2020.
21. Michigan Panthers Rocky Lombardi
Preseason Ranking: 21
Lombardi flashed some talent in his week 10 start that may give Panthers fans some hope if Bryce Perkins joins an NFL squad. Lombardi’s stat may have been a bit underwhelming but several penalties negated two explosive plays one of which was a rushing touchdown for the NIU alum. Lombardi has done enough to earn a roster spot in 2026 for Michigan to continue his development.
20. Arlington Renegades Holton Ahlers
Preseason Ranking: 20
Ahlers proved to be extremely capable as a backup in his limited action. Ahlers managed to throw a touchdown, and rush for one despite limited chances to prove himself. For fans of Ahlers and the Renegades you’d like the ECU QB to earn more reps, however, it’s unclear if the “Spring King” will allow that.
19. Houston Roughnecks Anthony Brown Jr.
Preseason Ranking: 9
Brown may be one of the UFL’s biggest disappointments in regards to signings this year. Brown looked ineffective, rattled, and overwhelmed in his journey to jumpstart his NFL comeback. Brown was passed over twice this year once for Nolan Henderson, and once for Jalan McClendon. Brown’s play this year may have not only put his NFL career out of reach but also his UFL career as well.
18. Birmingham Stallions Andrew Peasley
Preseason Ranking: Unranked
Peasley was signed after McGough’s injury and eventually found himself injured at one point as well. Despite it all, Peasley managed to appear in Two games and looked extremely competent in Skip Holtz’s offense. With a gluttony of Quarterbacks in Birmingham, Peasley has managed to put together enough good will and good tape for another shot in spring football if he desires.
17. Memphis Showboats Troy Williams
Preseason Ranking: 11
The Showboats had plenty of promise going into the year despite coming off a 2-8 season. Between Williams and Perry the Showboats with Quinten Dormady at one point Memphis had a lot of talent at the position that should have yielded more success than what occurred in 2025. While Williams' play isn’t completely on him, in a league of opportunity you have to wonder if Williams has done enough to earn another shot as a 30 plus year old QB who hasn’t inspired much since his days with the Maulers.
16. Memphis Showboats E.J. Perry
Preseason Ranking: 5
Perry had the same case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with his play in 2025. The Ivy-League gunslinger has had plenty of NFL opportunities the past several years including another training camp opportunity in 2024. While erratic off script plays have been Perry’s speciality it seems in 2025 that magic has begun to wear off a bit. Perry probably deserves another opportunity in Memphis going into his age 27 season but if a new staff comes in, it may be a bit more difficult to win over the hurts and minds of the Showboats faithful.
15. St. Louis Battlehawks Brandon Silvers
Preseason Ranking: Unranked
It seems that the Battlehawks offense was at a different level from the limited chances Silvers got in 2025. Whether it was the regular season or the playoffs Silvers continued to push the ball effectively downfield, giving the Battlehawks another dimension on Offense. While it seems Silvers has done enough to help his case in 2026 if he chooses to continue playing football, it’ll most likely be his decision to continue playing or not.
14. D.C. Defenders Mike DiLiello
Preseason Ranking: 23
DiLiello flashed a lot of ability in his extended playing time throughout Week 9 and 10 to warrant a possible look as D.C. 's QB1 if Jordan Ta’amu retires or joins an NFL roster. DiLiello looked extremely serviceable playing with many of the Defenders reserves effectively running the same system Ta’amu did. While DiLiello lacks a lot of the same arm strength as Ta’amu he’s definitely a proficient passer that can get the job done if called upon.
13. Houston Roughnecks Nolan Henderson
Preseason Ranking: 10
Henderson’s ranking is more about a lack of opportunity than his actual play. In extended playing action Henderson once again proved to be extremely effective and competent. Henderson deserves an opportunity to obtain a solid 10-games of film to see if he’s able to compete in the NFL, but with Jalan McClendon entrenched as Houston’s QB1, Henderson may need to look for a new home in the UFL if he wishes to earn more playing time.
12. San Antonio Brahmas Kevin Hogan
Preseason Ranking: 17
The highlights of Hogan were extremely high and the lowlights not so much. While Hogan has proven to be a capable option at Quarterback and like Silvers allowed the Brahmas to push the ball downfield something Kellen Mond had a lot of trouble doing, however in a league of opportunity is a 32-year-old QB someone to keep on the roster?
11. San Antonio Brahmas Kellen Mond
Preseason Ranking: 7
Mond at times played extremely conservative when it was time to take shots, and be more aggressive (something Hogan did). Mond does have the luxury of being a big name, with local ties to San Antonio that may be able to warrant another opportunity in 2026.
10. Memphis Showboats Dresser Winn
Preseason Ranking: Unranked
Winn showed flashes that he could be the guy in Memphis if not thrown into a volatile situation. Despite coming into the season late Winn’s mobility and strong arm could easily be a Top-4 QB in the UFL come 2026 especially if several players opt to move on.
9. Birmingham Stallions Matt Corral
Preseason Ranking: 8
Injuries like many of the Birmingham Quarterbacks stifled Corral’s output this year. In my opinion Corral’s failed heroics in the USFL conference championship was his most impressive output this year, coming off the bench cold after not playing in about 5 or 6 weeks. Corral is faced with a difficult situation in Birmingham if not signed by an NFL team due to his upside potential. He is a QB that may need to ask for a trade in order to earn a full slate of games to showcase his ability.
8. St. Louis Battlehawks Max Duggan
Preseason Ranking: 12
Duggan’s biggest issue will always come to his ability to have proper timing with his receivers. His elongated throwing motion has continued to hurt him and was on full display against the Defenders in the XFL conference game. Duggan’s athletic ability, his leadership, and his grit are not in question at all but his ability as a passer leads to a lot of questions in the future.
7. Birmingham Stallions Case Cookus
Preseason Ranking: Unranked
Cookus was unsigned until J’Mar Smith’s retirement and strung together a 2-1 record which included a little bit more rushing yards than you’d want out of your signal caller. Cookus proved once again he’s capable at being a starter but like Corral could be better off on another roster in 2026.
6. Birmingham Stallions J’Mar Smith
Preseason Ranking: 15
Smith’s revival from QB3 to Dunkin Donuts to UFL Player of the Week was a fairytale until the USFL Conference Championship Game. While Smith appeared to be playing his best football in 2025, with the potential of other Quarterbacks in the league, you have to wonder if Skip Holtz is all in as Smith as his QB1. Regardless, the J’Mar Smith revenge tour showed us top tier QB play which would have averaged out to about 2,000 passing yards and 15 passing touchdowns in a 10-game span.
5. Michigan Panther Danny Etling
Preseason Ranking: 13
Etling’s first half of the season was less than optimal until he was thrust into the starting role due to Bryce Perkins’ injury. Etling put together a solid string of games that allowed him to be one of the top-8 Quarterbacks in the league. While it wasn’t always perfect Etling has proven extremely efficient to run the Panthers offense, which he may be asked to do when Perkins earns an NFL contract.
4. Houston Roughnecks Jalan McClendon
Preseason Ranking: 14
McClendon’s 2025 standing is the same as it was in 2023. McClendon made the Roughnecks watchable and extremely competitive in 2025, a far cry from the Anthony Brown experience. It’s extremely simple for the Roughnecks in 2026, let McClendon start 10 games and reap the benefits.
3. Michigan Panthers Bryce Perkins
Preseason Ranking: 4
Perkins’ ranking is less about his play on the field and his availability the final weeks of the season. Perkins was easily the UFL’s most dynamic QB however, it’s extremely disingenuous to give him our top spots with our 7 game (6 starts) this year.
2. Arlington Renegades Luis Perez
Preseason Ranking: 3
I don’t think I’ve seen a QB have more TDs called back than Perez did this season. The “Spring King” had his moments this season, however couldn’t muster up enough magic to launch Arlington to the playoffs. Regardless, with another 2K season where he led the league in passing for the second consecutive season. Perez’s ability to continue to be one of the league’s best Quarterbacks should warrant consideration for a 2026 appearance however, in the league of opportunity has he overstayed his welcome?
1. D.C. Defenders Jordan Ta’amu
Preseason Ranking: 2
Despite getting passed over for MVP, OPOY, and All-UFL, Ta’amu certainly got the last laugh with his championship victory over Bryce Perkins’ Michigan Panthers. Ta’amu was clearly the UFL’s best player and hopefully should be earning an NFL contract shortly.
