UFL Offseason Update Part II

While NFL teams have been on vacation for several weeks the UFL goes into the middle of July with 12 NFL signings and over 20 workouts registered. Historically spring football players will see a spike in signings during the middle of June, and then another burst between late July all the way through August. While NFL signings have halted, 29 UFL players have signed their Letters of Intent to return in 2026 for the UFL season.
San Antonio Brahmas
The Brahmas have seen Jashaun Corbin sign with the Falcons along with Vitaly Gurman, Sean Frensch, Cam Lyons, and Garrett Nelson all receive NFL workouts. They have not begun signing players for the 2026 roster as of July 11th.
Michigan Panthers
The Panthers have seen All-UFL TE Gunnar Oakes receive an NFL workout with the Denver Broncos. The team has been extremely active so far this offseason signing 25 players to their LOI’s including newcomer Kaleb Hayes. The team also signed R.J. Moten who was released during the middle of the season.
Houston Roughnecks
The Roughnecks have seen Two players sign NFL contracts in Damon Arnette, and Geor'Quarius Spivey sign NFL deals. The team has also seen Keenan Isaac (2023 Houston Gamblers Draft Pick) earn a workout as well. The Roughnecks have also signed four players to their LOI, and while the signing has not been announced via the waiver wire James Larsen of PFN has announced that Jalan McClendon is making his return to Houston next year.
St. Louis Battlehawks
The Battlehawks have seen Nick Whiteside join Rodrigo Blankenship and Kyler Baugh as St. Louis players to receive an NFL workout. The team also saw 2024 Kicker Andre Szmyt return to the Browns after being released earlier in the summer.
Birmingham Stallions
The Stallions lead the 2025 offseason with Four players signing NFL deals. Harrison Mevis, Perrion Winfrey, Mario Goodrich, and Barry Wesley all look to make their return to the NFL after solid seasons in Birmingham during the spring. The franchise has now surpassed 40 players who have signed NFL deals since 2022.
Arlington Renegades
The Renegades have had a bit of roster movement as well going into NFL training camp. Arlington has seen Tight End’s Seth Green and All-UFL selection Sal Cannella sign NFL deals along with CB Jayden Price. The team has also seen 3-year Renegade and 7 year veteran Garrett McGhin offically announce his retirement.
D.C. Defenders
It’s been a quiet offseason for the 2025 UFL champions. So far Yasir Durant is the only bit of roster movement this year. Durant signed with the Patriots on June 23rd for his second stint in New England.
Memphis Showboats
The Showboats took a blow with their first NFL signing as QB Dresser Winn is signing with the Rams once again. Winn goes into his 3rd stint with LA after earning the starting role with the Showboats. The Showboats have also seen Jaylon Allen, Deneric Prince, Keaton Ellis, and DeVere Levelston earn NFL workouts so far this offseason.
