As the UFL goes into their first week of its 2nd offseason players have begun transitioning to the next phases of their career. Since the completion of the season (and even going into championship week), the UFL has seen its players earn over 20 workouts with 10 of them receiving contracts.

Headlining the list are All-UFL selections Jashaun Corbin, Sal Cannella, and Perrion Winfrey. All three have earned NFL contracts in the past with Corbin and Winfrey both completing their first season, while Cannella has been a regular in spring football since his time in the spring league (2021). It is also worth noting Cannella has earned an NFL contract each season he’s played in a spring football season.

Birmingham Stallions

In addition to Winfrey, fan favorite Harrison Mevis the “Thicker Kicker” is joining the Jets after his lone season with Birmingham. Mevis looks to join the ranks of Brandon Aubrey, Jake Bates, and Mitch Fraboni all of which have seen a decent amount of success post spring football. The Stallions also saw Mario Goodrich and Barry Wesley earn NFL contracts giving the Stallions Four players to make the jump to the NFL so far. The Stallions since 2022 have seen over 40 players earn NFL deals during their franchise revival.

Arlington Renegades

Cannella is joined by his running mate Tight End Seth Green who is in his 2nd year with the Renegades. The Renegades also saw Jayden Price the versatile Cornerback/Returner who like Green is also joining the Saints. The Renengades have seen 20 of their players signed since 2023 when the team returned to play.

Houston Roughnecks

The Roughnecks have seen Two of their players earn NFL deals so far this cycle. Damon Arnette the former NFL 1st round pick in the 2020 Draft, and Geor'Quarius Spivey both inked deals to solidify their football futures for the next couple of months. Spivey was a Roughnecks draft pick in the 2024 UFL college draft and is signing with the Chiefs. Arnette “remains” in Houston and is signing with the Texans replacing Ronald Darby who just retired.

Other players to receive NFL workouts so far are Gunnar Oakes (MICH), Ricky Lee (ARL), Cameron Lyons (SA), Sean Fresch (SA), Garrett Nelson (SA), Kyler Baugh (STL), Rodrigo Blankenship (STL), Deneric Prince (MEM), Keaton Ellis (MEM), Jaylon Allen (MEM), and DeVere Levelston (MEM).

While the UFL saw its first group of signings, Two players from previous spring football classes were released this past week. Tucker Addington (2022 Houston Gamblers) was released by the Texans, and Luq Barcoo (2023 San Antonio Brahmas) was released by the Cowboys. The UFL saw 75 players signed last season and are currently on pace compared to their 2024 numbers to meet or surpass that metric this signing cycle. Since 2022 spring football leagues have seen 253 players sign NFL deals.
