With playoff clinching scenarios all over the place for week 8, the stars came out to shine in the UFL in the final stretch of the season to push their teams in the postseason. Multiple players throughout the league “showed up” in hopes of punching their tickets for the conference championship.

Offensive Player of the Week: D.C. Defenders Jordan Ta’amu 15/26 240 Yds 2 TD 0 Int 5 Car 21 Yds 1 Rec 9 Yds 1 TD

In a win and you're in game Ta'amu delivered. As a passer, receiver, and rusher the 2023 XFL OPOY of the year continued to make his case for the MVP as the season comes to an end. Up against his "rival" Ta'amu constantly pused the ball downfield, made smart throws, avoided the rush and made his presence known when the team needed him most.

Honorable Mention: Danny Etling Michigan Panthers, J’Mar Smith Birmingham Stallions, Jashaun Corbin San Antonio Brahmas, Deon Cain Birmingham Stallions, Justin Hall Houston Roughnecks, Luis Perez Arlington Renegades, Jacob Saylors St. Louis Battlehawks, Tyler Vaughns Arlington Renegades, Deon Jackson D.C. Defenders, Cornell Powell D.C. Defenders,

Defensive Player of the Week: St. Louis Battlehawks Travis Feeney 5 TKLs, 1.5 Sacks, 2 FF

Feeney has been doing this a long time. Coming out of Washington in 2016 Feeney has been apart of the AAF, NFL, CFL, USFL, XFL, and now UFL. The “elder statesman” of the Battlehawks has put together one of the best seasons of his career continuing to put pressure on opposing Quarterbacks throughout the whole season. Week 8 was no exception as Feeney wreaked havoc on Stallions QB J’Mar Smith and ultimately “iced” the game on Forced Fumble with Birmingham in Field Goal range.

Honorable Mention:  Zeke Vandenburg Memphis Showboats, Steele Chambers Memphis Showboats, Josiah Bronson Memphis Showboats, Tavante Beckett San Antonio Brahmas, Pita Taumoepenu St. Louis Battlehawks, Willie Harvey St. Louis Battlehawks, DeMarquis Gates Birmingham Stallions, Arnold Tarpley Michigan Panthers, Jamir Jones Houston Roughnecks, Keni-H Lovely Michigan Panthers, DeAndre Baker D.C. Defenders,

Special Teams Player of the Week: Michigan Panthers Xavier Malone 176 Return Yards, 88 Kick Return Yards, 88 Punt Return Yards

If Blankenship makes that 58 Yard FG at the half, the Battlehawks may have a sweep for the player of the week awards. But in a sport that field position means so much, Xavier Malone changed the game. With the Roughnecks-Panthers game still competitive Malone flipped the field multiple times including an 88-yard return that came up just short for a return touchdown.

Honorable Mention: Sterling Hofrichter St. Louis Battlehawks, Harris Mevis Birmingham Stallions, Matt Mengal Memphis Showboats, Colby Wadman Birmingham Stallions, Cyril Grayson Houston Roughnecks. Lucas Havrisik Arlington Renegades
