2025 UFL Season: Week 6 Players of the Week
The stars continue to shine in the UFL, with the best of the best beginning to hit their stride. 6 teams remain fully invested in playoff contention and the hope of an NFL opportunity at the conclusion of the year. The consistent barrage of players making waves in the league continues to garner NFL opportunities as the league goes into its final stretch of the season.
Offensive Player of the Week: Michigan Panthers QB Bryce Perkins 13/18 188 Passing Yds 2 TDs, 9 Carries 76 Rush YDs 1 TD
At this point there is no doubt who the front runner for the 2025 UFL MVP is. It would take a massive fall off for Perkins to not earn the MVP and an NFL opportunity with his body of work this year. Perkins looks like Lamar Jackson with a combination of Josh Allen at times by his ability to not only make people miss but also break tackles and extend plays. Perkins’ play continues to be the most impressive output in spring football since P.J. Walker or Alex McGough.
Honorable Mention: Chris Rowland D.C. Defenders, Justin Smith San Antonio Brahmas, Hakeem Butler St. Louis Battlehawks, Jordan Ta’amu D.C. Defenders, Case Cookus Birmingham Stallions, Toa Taua Michigan Panthers
Defensive Player of the Week: St. Louis Battlehawks Pita Taumoepenu 5 TKLs, 2.0 Sacks, 2 FF, 1 FR
In a big time game the Battlehawks saw Taumoepenu deliver time and time again. The 2023 DPOY found himself constantly in a position to impact the game and continuously delivered. Not only did he register Two Sacks but he also constantly delivered pressure on Renegades QB Luis Perez. Taumoepenu has already matched his sack total from 2024 (leading the league), and has the unit on pace to surpass their total from the previous Two years.
Honorable Mention: Frank Ginda Michigan Panthers, Ronnie Perkins Birmingham Stallions, Kenny Willekes Michigan Panthers, Willie Harvey St. Louis Battlehawks, Jayden Price Arlington Renegades, Taco Charlton Arlington Renegades, Willie Taylor Arlington Renegades, Armani Marsh Houston Roughnecks, Andrew Dowell Memphis Showboats
Special Teams Player of the Week: St. Louis Battlehawks Rodrigo Blankenship 2/2 Long of 53
Blankenship may be the UFL’s “lock” to the NFL, when the season is complete especially from HC Anthony Becht. Blankenship is perfect on the season and has consistently hit from over 50 yds out. The consistent leg of Blankenship has been a game changer for the Battlehawks who saw Andre Smyzt leave for the Browns.
Honorable Mention: Sterling Hofrichter St. Louis Battlehawks, Mike Rivers Houston Roughnecks, Brad Wing San Antonio Brahmas, Harris Mevis Birmingham Stallions
