Week 5 bringing us to the midway point of the 2025 season. Week 5 continued to build off week 4 with return touchdowns, dynamic Quarterback play, and Defensive scoring to give fans a taste of what is to come for the rest of the season. With that being said, Alt-Football Digest took it upon themselves to hand out Player of the Week honors for those who have distinguished themselves from their peers.
Offensive Player of the Week: St. Louis Battlehawks QB Max Duggan 9/12 124 Passing Yds 1 TD, 10 Carries 70 Rush YDs 2 TDs

Duggan battled with Bryce Perkins this weekend in a must win game for the Battlehawks at the mid-way point of the season. Duggan looked like a changed man, then he did a week ago. Utilizing his legs, playing extremely similar to the style of Perkins, taking shots down field to Jake Sutherland and Hakeem Butler. While many could argue for another week of Perkins as Offensive Player of the Week, the fact that Duggan delivered with the stakes being so high means a bit more.
Honorable Mention: Dresser Winn Memphis Showboats, Bryce Perkins Michigan Panthers, Hakeem Butler St. Louis Battlehawks, Jordan Ta’amu D.C. Defenders, Case Cookus Birmingham Stallions, Luis Perez Arlington Renegades
Defensive Player of the Week: D.C. Defenders Anthony Hines LB 11 Tkls, 1 Sack, 1 TFL

There were a ton of candidates for Defensive Player of the Week, but I felt like Hines deserves his due, along with the whole Defenders Defense. Hines led the charge for a very “bend don’t break” output by the Blake Williams’ group that continues to be the best in the league.
Honorable Mention: Frank Ginda Michigan Panthers, Rayshad Williams Houston Roughnecks, Jordan Williams San Antonio Brahmas, Kenny Willekes Michigan Panthers, Willie Harvey St. Louis Battlehawks, Ajene Harris Arlington Renegades, Tashawn Bower Houston Roughnecks, Chris Odom Arlington Renegades
Special Teams Player of the Week: Memphis Showboats wr Isiah Hennie 3 KR 67 Yds, 2 PR 12 Yds, 1 FG Return 108 Yds, 177 All Purpose Yards

Hennie-thing is possible. While it was a great team win for the Showboats, it was a last second FG Return by Isiah Hennie that in my opinion really propelled the Showboats to victory. Hennie is one of the best in the league at changing field position and has been since 2022. Hennie not only had 108 yards on his “kick-6” but also flipped the field with an additional 87 yards on kick and punt returns as well.
Honorable Mention: Rodrigo Blankenship St. Louis Battlehawks, Marquette King Arlington Renegades, Brad Wing San Antonio Brahmas, Xavier Malone Michigan Panthers, Lucas Havrisik Arlington Renegades
